Endometrial Granulated Lymphocytes in Women Suffering Spontaneous Early Pregnancy Loss
نویسندگان
چکیده
Spontaneous abortion is the most common complication of pregnancy. Several lines of evidence indicate that immunologic effector cells may play a role in the pathogenesis of idiopathic repetitive abortions. Leukocytes form a substantial proportion of stromal cells in decidua and the endometrial granulated lymphocytes (eGL) is the predominant decidual leukocyte population in the first trimester of normal human pregnancy. To investigate the involvement of eGL population in repetitive abortion of unknown etiology, a comparative analysis was performed on first-trimester decidual tissues obtained from thirty patients with recurrent spontaneous abortion and thirty samples at therapeutic abortion. The eGL in paraffin-embedded sections of all samples were demonstrated with phloxinetartrazine staining. The results showed the presence of many eGL that scattered individually throughout the stroma and formed some aggregates around glands and some vessels. The number of positive cells was increased in the recurrent aborted decidua compared with normal pregnancy decidua, but the difference was not significant (p>0.05). Iran. Biomed. متن کاملImmunopathological Aspects of Decidual Tissues in Women with First-Trimester Recurrent Spontaneous Abortion
Background/objective: Studies of the decidual leukocyte populations in women suffering from spontaneous early pregnancy loss may provide insight into immunpathological aspects and even cast light on the etiology of recurrent spontaneous abortion. Methods: In order to clarify the immunological role of endometrial leukocytes in repetitive abortion of unknown etiology, a comparative analysis of phe...
متن کاملEndometrial leucocytes: expression of steroid hormone receptors.
BACKGROUND Stromal leucocyte populations in human endometrium comprise T cells, macrophages, and phenotypically unusual endometrial granulated lymphocytes. Their proportions vary during the menstrual cycle and, in particular, endometrial granulated lymphocytes increase in number in the late secretory phase. The stimulus responsible for these cyclical changes is unknown but it is likely that the...
متن کاملSpontaneous Abortion, Stillbirth and Hyperthyroidism: A Danish Population-Based Study
OBJECTIVES Pregnancy loss in women suffering from hyperthyroidism has been described in case reports, but the risk of pregnancy loss caused by maternal hyperthyroidism in a population is unknown. We aimed to evaluate the association between maternal hyperthyroidism and pregnancy loss in a population-based cohort study. STUDY DESIGN All pregnancies in Denmark from 1997 to 2008 leading to hospi...
متن کاملOnm-1: The Association of Apoprotien E Polymorphisms with Recurrent Miscarriage in Iranian Women
Background: Thrombophilia has been viewed as a multigenic disorder rather than a monogenetic clinical phenotype and Apo E has been shown to play an important role in lipid metabolism in pregnancy. As individuals carrying the E4 allele of the ApoE gene have the highest risk for thrombosis, we evaluated the frequency of the Apo E4 genotype among women suffering from recurrent pregnancy loss. Mate...
